FREEDOM TO THE CAPTIVES
Every human being is created in the image of God — noble, valuable, and worthy of dignity. Imprisonment, past mistakes, court judgments, social stigma, poverty, failure, or life's hardships can never erase the worth that God has given to every person. A person is not defined solely by their lowest moment, their past mistakes, or what has been done to them. In Christ, there is always hope — hope of repentance, forgiveness, freedom, transformation, and a new beginning.
Some individuals are in prison because of mistakes they made. Others are incarcerated unjustly — through false accusation or a failure of justice. But imprisonment is not confined to the walls of a correctional facility.
A person can walk free in body while remaining bound in mind, heart, and spirit — held captive by sin, addiction, fear, anger, bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, hopelessness, destructive thinking, and unhealed wounds from the past. The body may move freely outside prison walls, yet the mind and heart can still live in bondage.
This is why the call of Freedom to the Captives is not limited by prison doors and walls. It extends to every person, wherever they are, who is bound by any form of captivity — seen or unseen.
Freedom to the Captives exists to bring the message of the Gospel — hope, repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation, freedom, and restoration — to:
We help individuals experience lasting transformation in their spiritual life, mindset, knowledge, character, and sense of responsibility through:
Through these tools, we walk alongside people as they move from captivity to freedom, from despair to hope, from failure to restoration, and from an old way of life into a new journey — becoming strong, transformed individuals who make a lasting, positive contribution to their nation and their people.
Our focus is lasting change — both inward and outward. We exist to help people:
A captive is not only someone standing behind iron bars. A prison door may confine the body, but there are other, unseen chains that confine the mind, the heart, and the life. Our calling reaches both — those held within prison walls, and those held captive in ways the eye cannot see.
Every captive deserves to know the freedom, hope, transformation, and restoration found in the Gospel. That is the call of Freedom to the Captives.
